Engible — Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Engible ("the Service") — an online tool that turns YouTube videos into interactive English lessons. "You" and "tutor" mean the person who creates an account and uses the Service. "Student" means a person to whom a tutor sends an assignment through a link; students are not parties to these Terms (see §7). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Contact: privacy@engible.com.

1. What Engible is

Engible generates English lessons from the transcript of YouTube videos chosen by you, and lets you share assignments with your students via a private link.

2. Beta status

The Service is currently provided as a free beta. It may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued at any time. Features may be added, modified, or removed, and free usage limits may change. The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.

3. Who may use Engible

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract. By registering you confirm this. The Service is designed primarily for teaching English.

4. Your account

Keep your password secure — you are responsible for activity under your account. Provide a working email address: we use it for sign-in and important service messages. You can delete your account at any time in the app; deletion removes your lessons, assignments, and students' answers.

5. YouTube content and copyright

  • You choose which videos to build lessons from. You are responsible for having the right to use a video for teaching, and for complying with YouTube's Terms of Service and applicable copyright law.
  • Engible does not download, store, or re-host videos. Videos are always played through the official YouTube player. A lesson is an original, transformative educational material built around the video — such as vocabulary, exercises, and questions — not a copy of the video.
  • If you are a rights holder and believe content in a lesson infringes your rights, contact privacy@engible.com and we will review and, where appropriate, remove the material.

6. Your content and licence

  • You own your content — the lessons you create, the vocabulary you select, and the materials you produce with Engible, including AI-generated lesson content, are yours to use, also outside the Service.
  • You grant Engible a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display your content solely to provide the Service to you and the students you share assignments with. We do not use your content for advertising and do not sell it.
  • Engible owns the Service itself — the software, design, name, and logo. These Terms give you the right to use the Service; they do not transfer any of it to you.
  • If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve the Service without obligation to you.
  • You must not use the Service for unlawful content or purposes, attempt to break its security or access other users' data, disrupt its operation, abuse its AI generation (e.g. automated scraping or bulk generation), impersonate others, or resell the Service.

7. Students and assignments

  • Assignments are shared through a private link; students do not need accounts and are not asked for personal details by Engible.
  • You are responsible for your students: for having a lawful basis to work with them, and — where a student is a minor — for any parental or guardian consent required in your country.
  • If you type identifying details anywhere in the Service — for example a student's name in an assignment label or a lesson title — you do so as the controller of that data.

8. AI-generated content

Lessons are generated automatically by AI and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or unsuitable phrasing. They are teaching aids, not professional or pedagogical advice. Review every lesson before using it with students — you remain responsible for what you teach.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Engible is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of data, or loss of profits arising from the use of the Service during the free beta. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including EU consumer protection law.

10. Ending the Service or an account

  • You can stop using Engible and delete your account at any time.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
  • If we discontinue the Service, we will give tutors reasonable prior notice by email where feasible and, where possible, a period to export or copy their content before deletion.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. For material changes we will notify you by email or in the app before they take effect; continued use of the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary and applicable EU law. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected. If any part of these Terms turns out to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remains in effect.
