Engible – Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Engible ("the Service") – an online tool that turns YouTube videos into interactive English lessons. "You" and "tutor" mean the person who creates an account and uses the Service. "Student" means a person to whom a tutor sends an assignment through a link; students are not parties to these Terms (see §8). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. 1. What Engible is

Engible creates English lessons from the transcript of YouTube videos chosen by you, and lets you share assignments with your students via a private link.

2. Subscriptions, price and payment

  • 2.1 Professional use. The Service is made available for use in your teaching activity, and by subscribing you confirm that you subscribe in connection with that activity.
  • 2.2 Free allowance. A limited number of lessons may be created without payment and without providing any card details. The current allowance is stated on our pricing page.
  • 2.3 Paid subscription. Paid access is provided as a monthly subscription, at the price and with the monthly lesson allowance stated on our pricing page at the time of purchase. Lessons not used within a monthly period do not carry over to the next. Any tax due in your country is determined and charged by Paddle at the point of purchase, so the total you pay may differ from the price shown.
  • 2.4 Merchant of record. Subscriptions are sold and processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record and is therefore the seller towards you. Which company of the Paddle group is your counterparty depends on your location and is stated in Paddle's buyer terms. Paddle collects payment, determines and charges any applicable taxes, and issues the invoice; Paddle's buyer terms govern the purchase transaction. We never receive your card details.
  • 2.5 Renewal. The subscription renews automatically for successive monthly periods until it is cancelled in accordance with §3.
  • 2.6 Changes to plans and prices. We may change the plans, allowances and prices of the Service. A change takes effect for you at the start of your next billing period, and we will notify you in advance. If you do not accept a change, you may cancel before it takes effect.
  • 2.7 Failed payment. If a payment is not completed, we may suspend access to paid features until it is. Lessons you have already created are not deleted for this reason.
  • 2.8 "As is". The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", to the extent permitted by law. Features may be added, changed or withdrawn as the product develops.

3. Cancellation and refunds

  • 3.1 Cancellation. You may cancel at any time in the app, except during a short period immediately before each renewal (currently about 30 minutes), while Paddle prepares the renewal payment. Cancellation stops all future renewals; access to paid features continues until the end of the billing period already paid for.
  • 3.2 Refunds. Refunds are handled by Paddle as the seller of record, under Paddle's own refund policy; we do not make refunds separately from it. Part of a billing period is not refunded, and lessons left unused in a period are neither refunded nor carried over nor otherwise compensated. The free allowance under §2.2 exists so that the Service can be evaluated in full before any payment is made.
  • 3.3 After cancellation. Lessons you have already created remain readable while your account is open. All other functionality of the Service – including creating lessons, sending assignments, and any feature that forms part of a paid plan, whether existing now or added later – requires an active subscription.

4. Who may use Engible

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract. By registering you confirm this. The Service is designed primarily for teaching English.

5. Your account

Keep your password secure – you are responsible for activity under your account. Provide a working email address: we use it for sign-in and important service messages. You can delete your account at any time in the app; deletion removes your lessons, assignments, and students' answers. If you have a subscription, deleting your account cancels it immediately; the remainder of the billing period is not refunded. An account with a subscription cannot be deleted during the short period before a renewal described in §3.1.

6. Video content and copyright

  • You choose which videos to build lessons from; Engible does not review their content. You are responsible for having the right to use a video for teaching, for making sure it is suitable for your students, including for their age, and for complying with YouTube's Terms of Service and applicable copyright law.
  • Videos you may not use. Do not build lessons from videos that YouTube has age-restricted, or from videos that are sexually explicit or that promote hatred or violence. We may refuse to create a lesson from such a video or remove it, and may suspend or close an account that keeps using them (§11).
  • Engible does not download, store, or re-host videos. Videos are always played through the official YouTube player. A lesson is an original, transformative educational material built around the video – such as vocabulary, exercises, and questions – not a copy of the video.
  • If you are a rights holder and believe content in a lesson infringes your rights, contact [email protected] and we will review and, where appropriate, remove the material.

7. Your content and licence

  • You own your content – the lessons you create, the vocabulary you select, and the materials you produce with Engible, including AI-created lesson content, are yours to use, also outside the Service.
  • You grant Engible a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display your content solely to provide the Service to you and the students you share assignments with. We do not use your content for advertising and do not sell it.
  • Engible owns the Service itself – the software, design, name, and logo. These Terms give you the right to use the Service; they do not transfer any of it to you.
  • If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve the Service without obligation to you.
  • You must not use the Service for unlawful content or purposes, attempt to break its security or access other users' data, disrupt its operation, abuse its AI lesson creation (e.g. automated scraping or bulk creation), impersonate others, or resell the Service.

8. Students and assignments

  • Assignments are shared through a private link; students do not need accounts and are not asked for personal details by Engible.
  • You are responsible for your students: for having a lawful basis to work with them, and – where a student is a minor – for any parental or guardian consent required in your country.
  • If you type identifying details anywhere in the Service – for example a student's name in an assignment label or a lesson title – you do so as the controller of that data.

9. AI-created content

Lessons are created automatically by AI and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or unsuitable phrasing. They are teaching aids, not professional or pedagogical advice. Review every lesson before using it with students – you remain responsible for what you teach.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Engible is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of data, or loss of profits arising from the use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for all claims shall not exceed the total amount you paid for the Service in the three months before the claim arose. Any claim must be brought within twelve months of the event giving rise to it. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including EU consumer protection law.

11. Ending the Service or an account

  • You can stop using Engible and delete your account at any time, as described in §5.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
  • We may close an account that has had no active subscription and no sign-in for twelve months, after giving you notice beforehand.
  • We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time. If we discontinue it, we will stop renewals, give tutors reasonable notice in advance, and use reasonable efforts to keep the Service available until the end of periods already paid for.
  • Events outside our control. We are not in breach of these Terms, and are not liable, where performance is prevented, delayed or made impracticable by any event beyond our reasonable control. These include, without limitation, the failure, suspension, price change or withdrawal of any third-party service the Service depends on (including hosting, payment, transcript and AI providers); network, power or telecommunications failures; cyber attacks; acts or omissions of public authorities, changes in law, sanctions or court orders; industrial action; epidemics; natural events, fire, flood, war or civil unrest; and any comparable circumstance. Where such an event persists, we may suspend or discontinue the Service in accordance with this section.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. For material changes we will notify you in advance before they take effect; continued use of the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary and applicable EU law. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected. If any part of these Terms turns out to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remains in effect.

If you are a consumer and a complaint cannot be settled with us directly, you may also turn to the conciliation board (békéltető testület) competent for your place of residence or for our registered seat; the current list and contact details of these boards are published at bekeltetes.hu.
